Speech therapy helps kids improve their communication with peers and caregivers. No matter the cause of the communication difficulties, speech therapy can improve an individual's overall quality of life. Contact us today to schedule a speech therapy evaluation if your child has difficulty talking, eating, nasal breathing, or using language. We have speech therapists that provide therapy in English and Spanish.
Our approach to speech therapy is play-based since it is a child's job to play. Our speech therapists provide a child-lead play approach. During play activities, children may participate in mouth and tongue movements/exercises, repetition of target speech sounds, social emotional engagement, imitation of movements and/or sounds, and more!
We provide speech therapy, language therapy, feeding therapy, oral motor therapy, and orofacial myofunctional therapy. We specialize in the birth-to-five population for language delays and feeding difficulties. Our speech therapists have specialized training in oral motor and orofacial myofunctional therapy. We provide speech therapy (e.g., articulation, fluency, etc.) to kids of all ages.
Here are some of the diagnoses we encounter: articulation disorder, speech delay, language delay, oral motor weakness, feeding difficulties, developmental delay, attention difficulties, autism spectrum disorder, and beyond.
Speech therapy can benefit any child with communication difficulties. Speech therapy is often recommended by pediatrician's when children are not meeting communication milestones. Our speech therapists primarily treat children with the following conditions: articulation disorder, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive-communication disorder, early language delay, expressive language disorders, receptive language disorders, speech fluency disorders, feeding disorder, failure to thrive, attention deficit disorder, and attention hyperactivity disorder.
We provide speech therapy services in our office in Longwood, FL. Our speech therapists also travel to some local daycares. We are located in the Sanlando Office Center Park.
We provide speech therapy to children ages birth- to- 5-years-old with language disorders. We provide speech therapy (i.e., fluency, articulation, etc.), oral motor therapy, and feeding therapy for children from birth-to-18 years old. Our speech therapist specialize in working with young children.
All individuals who need help with communication skills can benefit from speech therapy. At our practice, our speech therapists provide speech therapy to kids starting around 18-months of age. Research has shown that children who need speech therapy have the most success when they start as early as the communication difficulty is identified. Early Intervention for speech therapy is key to closing the gap.
Prior to receiving speech therapy, your child will receive a speech and language evaluation by one of our speech therapists to see if speech and/or language services are warranted.
Following the evaluation, the therapist will share the results of the evaluation and further recommendations. If therapy is warranted, individualized treatment goals will be created based on observations made during the evaluation.
Every child's communication needs are unique. Our speech therapists are unable to determine how long speech therapy will last for any child. Some influencing factors on the length of speech therapy are: a child's attending skills, the child's age, the severity of the communication disorder, how often the child attends therapy, parental involvement, and home carryover of speech therapy strategies and activities.
Tongue ties can impact feeding, speech, sleep, breathing, dentition and more! If you suspect your child has a tongue tie, it is important to receive an evaluation by a TOTs (I.e., Tethered Oral Tissues) trained professional prior to seeking removal of the tie. Our speech therapists are TOTs trained and assess the structure and function of the oral cavity and it's impact on overall development.
