Speech skills are essential for kids to communicate clearly and effectively with their peers and family members. Our speech therapy evaluations assess: speech articulation, speech fluency, and vocal quality.
A child with a speech articulation disorder may present with difficulty producing age-appropriate sounds. For example, a 5-year-old that is unable to produce /r/ in conversation. A child in need of speech therapy for speech fluency may demonstrate a lot of part-word or word repetitions, periods of no sound when trying to speak, or prolonged sound production. A child that would benefit from speech therapy for voice concerns may frequently present with a strained vocal quality.
Our pediatric speech pathologists provide speech therapy with younger and older kids with speech difficulties. Our speech therapists also see kids with phonological processes, stuttering, and articulation difficulties.
